Who We Are
Founded in June 2024, the Redwood Coast Schutzhund Club was created by a group of dedicated dog enthusiasts who share a passion for training, teamwork, and the working dog spirit. Based along the beautiful Northern California coast (Humboldt and Del Norte County), our club brings together handlers and dogs of all backgrounds — from traditional working breeds to mixed breeds with drive and heart.
We meet weekly to train, learn, and grow together in the three foundational phases of Schutzhund/IGP: tracking, obedience, and protection. In addition, several of our members are actively training in RH/Rettungshund (search and rescue dog sport), broadening our focus to include skills that highlight the versatility and real-world value of the working dog.
Beyond the field, we’re a community of like-minded individuals who value friendship, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence — whether you’re preparing for competition or simply want to build a stronger bond with your dog.
